Over the holidays, I transferred my XBox LIVE account to my brother's console down on Long Island, so we could try our hand at some ROCK BAND. It worked really well and we had a great time.
I finally had some free time to play some games last night, and I knew I would have to transfer my account back. No such luck. LIVE seemed to be having some serious problems.
From previous experience, I knew that Larry Hryb (aka 'Major Nelson') is the go-to source for times when LIVE is not quite at its best. I checked his twitter feed, and boy did it look as though it had been a busy couple days. Anyway, lo and behold, "account transfers" being broken was a known issue, and it was being worked on.
I went to bed, figuring I'd be able to take care of things the next morning.

Unfortunately, things were not quite back to normal. I had noticed in his posts that Major Nelson mentioned 'answering messages' on LIVE. I thought, maybe I could send him a message. In the least annoying way possible, I asked if account transfers would be working again soon. A few moments later I had a response! 'try now', said Major Nelson.
Unfortunately, it was still busted, but the fact that I was able to chat with someone on the inside was pretty great. I can't imagine dealing with gamers on a regular basis but Major Nelson takes it in stride. Hopefully I'll be able to get my account back later today.
