This is mainly for my own reference just in case I forget who I've decided to vote for come election day -- I'm terrible with names. Rob and Grandma, you probably shouldn't read this as it will just make you angry.
U.S. Senator
Howie Hawkins (G) - This is pretty much a throwaway vote, in an effort to not vote for Hillary (who'll be useless to us when she starts running for the Presidency in 2008) or John Spencer, who may in fact be a racist crook.
U.S. Congress, District 20 - The Fightin' 20th
Kirsten E. Gillibrand (D) - John Sweeney lolz. This campaign has been pretty humorous; Sweeney's been running all these negative ads that don't really say anything. "Did YOU know that KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND'S gardener's cousin's BROTHER was convicted of MAIL FRAUD?!" Meanwhile, Gillibrand's equally negative ads can be summarized as "Did YOU know that John Sweeney HIMSELF did all this terrible, potentially illegal shit? Oh BTW here's some pictures of him at a FRAT PARTY, LOL."
Governor
Eliot Spitzer (D) - 'Nuff said. I've been waiting to vote for Eliot for anything for years now. Dude is awesome.
Lt. Governor
David A. Paterson (D) - Might as well get the matching pair, right?
Comptroller
Undecided - I don't know anything about this race, and don't really care too much about it either. I'll have to figure something out at some point.
Attorney General
Undecided - Jeanine Pirro is a maniac and a crook, and I don't know how I feel about putting another Cuomo in office. My boy Eliot said Cuomo was totally cool, which further complicates matters.
State Senator, District 43 - The Fightin' 43rd
Joseph L. Bruno (R) - Not much choice in the matter here. Hey, we've already got a baseball stadium named for the guy, so why spoil a good thing.
State Representative, District 108 - The Fightin' 108th
Undecided - I have no idea who any of these clowns are. I suppose I should really find out some more, as this is probably one of the races that affects the good citizens of "Brunswick" the most.
Let me also take this opportunity to say that Tom Mailey and Ed O'Brien have easily the best morning newscast in the Capital District. Ed accidentally said "shitty" (a mispronunciation of 'city') this morning and didn't skip a beat. They were also both talking crap about a "new" baseball pitch - "It's a cut fastball!" and "There's a manual for some pitch?!?" It was delicious.
