Purely by coincidence, last night I observed two spectacular meteors streak through the evening sky. One was really cool, it lasted between 1 and 2 seconds and was low/large enough for me to see it shedding debris with a trail of smoke/water vapor(?) behind it.
Apparently peak for the Orionids was yesterday, but I think I might go outside and take another look tonight.
