In an effort to be a good Catholic, I thought I would try to call my parish to see if they had issued a dispensation for corned beef on St. Patrick's Day. For those of you not up on your holidays where awesome food is cooked and eaten, St. Patrick's day falls on a Friday during Lent this year.

This basically means no corned beef. Until SATURDAY.

Anyway, this was the result. I'm not sure if I'll call back, but I'm glad I didn't really need to talk to a priest or anything.

re: ah

The thing that always drives me crazy is when a place employs an answering service for what? so they can tell you that they're at lunch and to call back? This is better than voicemail how?

re: Warm Bodies

We've been talking about this very subject at work lately, where we're looking to go 24/5 pretty soon. It seems the thought it people are much happier to talk to a warm body than to leave a message, even if the net effect is the same.

In my case, however, it totally spoils the funny.

re: wish I had one

It seems like a good idea, but I'm a little biased because my old doctor had one that would just tell you to call back (they wouldn't even let you take a message). They were really snotty about it.

<Hackel> _eXoDuS: Just bringing in so many clueless users asking stupid questions. I'm not saying it's bad--I'm glad I have the opportunity to use it. Just most windows users are annoying. :-P
<mstyne|wk> that's a little pretentious
<Hackel> Pretension is a good thing.
<mstyne|wk> actually, no.
