This is what you get

In an effort to be a good Catholic, I thought I would try to call my parish to see if they had issued a dispensation for corned beef on St. Patrick's Day. For those of you not up on your holidays where awesome food is cooked and eaten, St. Patrick's day falls on a Friday during Lent this year.
This basically means no corned beef. Until SATURDAY.
Anyway, this was the result. I'm not sure if I'll call back, but I'm glad I didn't really need to talk to a priest or anything.

The thing that always drives me crazy is when a place employs an answering service for what? so they can tell you that they're at lunch and to call back? This is better than voicemail how?
We've been talking about this very subject at work lately, where we're looking to go 24/5 pretty soon. It seems the thought it people are much happier to talk to a warm body than to leave a message, even if the net effect is the same.
In my case, however, it totally spoils the funny.
It seems like a good idea, but I'm a little biased because my old doctor had one that would just tell you to call back (they wouldn't even let you take a message). They were really snotty about it.
