Hey dudes,
As you may know, Erin and I are moving into our new apartment all this week. By Saturday, we hope to have all the small items taken care of, and just the 'heavy lifting' left to do. This, I hope, is where you fine gentlemen and ladies come in.
I don't typically ask others for help, but after bringing three heavy boxes of books up to the new apartment today, I realized it would be quite foolish not to. Therefore, I officially request your assistance this Saturday to move chairs, couches and other heavy items to our new place.
For your hard work, you will be rewarded with pizza and whatever beverages you'd like to have. We're looking to get started probably around 12:30 / 1p, this is subject to change, of course. We'll load everything up and then caravan up to the new place. Any changes will be noted here and also hopefully also e-mailed to the appropriate parties.
So, in summary:
WHAT: Help Mike move heavy crap
WHEN: This Saturday, 12:30 / 1p
WHY: Because you like pizza, camaraderie, and helping others(?)
WHERE: 110 Country Gardens, #3 / Troy, NY 12180
If you can make it, please let me know, so I know how many people we should expect. Thanks!
Mon Jan 24 17:51:50 EST Update:
- Andres can't come, he'll be in Poughkeepsie.
- Nick will be at work until 5pm.
- Jeremy's locale prohibits him from taking part in the festivities.
- Matt will be painting his living room, but thinks he'll be able to duck out for a moment.
- Rob is injured, and will be working, but can probably hold doors.
- Sabrina is probably in the dark about the whole thing.
Thu Jan 27 14:34:42 EST Update:
It looks like we'll be pushing thing back a bit, as U-Haul can't get me the truck until 2pm.
- Derrik says he's in.
- Matt has shored up his commitment slightly.
- Boo will be in Boston.
Mon Jan 31 17:25:04 EST Update:
We're finally done (well, we've been done since Saturday night, actually) and there's a bunch of people to thank. Matt managed to stick around and help get most of the heavy stuff out of the way. Boo and Derrik were in it for the long haul and moved stuff around with hernia busting strength. Sarah assisted in a clutch situation with plates, cups, and silverware. Rhonda helped out by packing a ton of stuff in her brand new land yacht.
I learned a few things about moving, first being that no matter what the price, it's probably a good idea to pay someone else to do it. I also learned that Honda Civic coupes are not designed for hauling anything larger than a crate of LP's. I've got to head back to the old place to take care of some last minute cleaning activities, but I think after that we'll finally be done with that godforsaken place.

Sorry dude, there's racing that day. You know, at AQUEDUCT.
I don't know how much help I'll be (I reaggrivated my ribs over the weekend) and I don't know how long I'll be there (I probably can't get there until 5:30pm becuase of work), but I'll be around. Make sure somebody calls Brina, becuase I don't think she checks out the monkey that often.
