Can you hear me now?

** You are now speaking with StephenL, Road Runner. **
StephenL : How may I help you?
Mike : Hi Stephen, over the past couple days my cablemodem connection has been failing on an hourly basis; the only (temporary) solution is to powercycle the cablemodem.
Mike : Prior to this, the connection has been relatively stable for the past 8 months or so.
StephenL : Hrm... May I have the account number or the phone number so I can access the account?
Mike : Sure, one second, let me go grab my bill.
Mike : Er, rats. Would the email address associated with the account be helpful?
StephenL : How about the phone number?
Mike : Oh, sure. 518 271 XXXX, sorry.
Mike : That's the number we used when we signed up, but it's since been disconnected.
StephenL : Okay.
StephenL : How about the address?
Mike : 110 Country Gardens
Mike : Troy, NY 12180
StephenL : checking that out now.
Mike : Okay, hopefully it won't crap out in the meantime ;)
Your party has left this session.
Whenever one of our clients complains about lousy support, I'll have to try to avoid the desire to clock them.

When my bosses cable modem crapped out, I just brought it to the local Time Warner place and they gave me a new model and threw the old one into a box. Of course, if you're never home during the day, that might not work.
