Ancient Maladies of the Future

So, Erin is sick. She took the day off from work. I blame her germ riddled students.

I don't work Thursdays -- well, or Tuesdays either, so it's up to me to play doctor, and not in the fun way either. Today has involved making tea and soup. And being quiet. We watched the first episode of Wonderfalls while last night's Angel downloaded in the background. The conclusion I have drawn as to why I enjoy that show is that it was different and creative, and pretty funny. That's probably why it was canceled.

And no, I won't be watching Angel. Really.

We briefly discussed the recent price drop in the X-Box and how one could use an X-Box as a poor man's Tivo. Building a homebrew Tivo is something I've put off for far too long.

I noticed an Ebay auction for a horrible abused DeLorean, made up to look like the time machine from Back to the Future. My cousin owns a DeLorean, but wasn't immediately around to talk about it. His sister was online, so I bothered her for a moment until Jeremy surfaced on Instant Messenger.

We talked about cars briefly. I'm not very good when it comes to talking about cars. I don't really know much about them other than they're really expensive to fix. I mentioned to him that I had been looking into the possibility of purchasing a Civic Hybrid. My major concern about such an acquisition is that it'll be harder to maintain than my current car, which lately seems to need about $350 thrown in it's general direction every month or it gets cranky.

It's all speculation at this point, as I certainly don't have the cash for such an investment. But the thought of getting into a car without the fear that it might disintegrate or explode does have its merits.

I don't usually have to do work from home, but I just did. It was kind of neat, actually.

Raj: thank you my good man
Michael Styne: no problem

There's a woman outside screaming at a small child. Her cell phone started ringing.

It played Scott Joplin's The Entertainer.

Ah, Troy.

re: hybrid

My guess is that you wouldn't be getting a used hybrid.. so how could it need as much maintenance as your current "pimpmobile."

Yes, I said pimpmobile.

I would totally get one.
