Last night I went to Price Chopper to buy some coffee and other sundries. They were playing Captain Sensible's One Christmas Catalogue. How awesome is that?
The only thing that would top that would be to go into Hannaford and hear Christmas Wrapping.
Still waiting to hear about the job at the super-cool web hosting firm. I think tomorrow is make or break time. I was reading ESR's (who I tend to agree with 50% of the time) Hacker HOWTO for the umpteenth time, when I came across this:
Hackers (and creative people in general) should never be bored or have to drudge at stupid repetitive work, because when this happens it means they aren't doing what only they can do ? solve new problems. This wastefulness hurts everybody. Therefore boredom and drudgery are not just unpleasant but actually evil.
This may explain why I can't stand my current position at North America's leading specialty retailer of consumer electronics, personal computers, entertainment software and appliances.
Someday, the coveted chair of SysAdmin will be mine.
